There is also an excellent beach restaurant in the middle of the main beach, serving various fish and meat dishes. Neither the at-seat or dine-in option is cheap. So, bring your own water, cigarettes, etc. However, our beach attendant Erick was a bronzed, smooth-talking Greek hunk who had us ordering from his menu every hour or so.

Also note, that the iconic Babylon gay bar has shut its doors and is no longer in operation. In the summer months, crowds of gays gather from sunset till the early hours. It gets really busy here from 11 pm onwards when the street outside Jackie O' becomes the beating heart and soul of gay Mykonos.

Gay-friendly Beaches on Mykonos

Stunning, really. Then, okay. You would be much better off staying at the Tropicana. It is located right beside the Paradise Beach Resort but has nicer lounge chairs, towels, and cabanas. The staff is also much friendlier. On our second day, we were so fed up with Paradise Beach and their staff that we walked over to the Tropicana resort and paid 30 Euros for 3 of their front-row lounge chairs.
