The truth about God is that He is absolutely holy and unconditionally loving. Many well-meaning Christians excuse and condone sin in the spirit of trying to show the love of God. I can be moved by compassion to excuse and condone almost any sin. My compassion for someone in chronic pain can justify taking a life.
